Map out your Conference Experience

There is so much to do during the 4 days. Here is a snapshot from the 2009 Super Conference just to give you an idea of who attends and what events there are:

4,400 delegates
400 speakers
775 vendor representatives
120 authors
11 plenary and spotlight sessions
238 workshops

Tips for having a great experience

Consider participating in at least one of each of the following:

• keynote/plenary
• vendor presentation on the exhibit floor
• workshop about a responsibility in your job portfolio
• workshop that has nothing to do with your job – but is of interest to you
• social event (i.e. exhibit reception, Friday night, or library school reunion)
• an Annual General meeting (there will be 7 of them!)
• lunch or drinks with former colleagues or classmates
• a poster session
• an author signing
• the onsite OLAStore (presenters books, conference souvenirs, and more)

Is this Your FIRST Super Conference?

Be sure to attend the special networking session on Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM.

The CEOs and Library Directors of many of Ontario’s urban libraries belong to CULC/CUBC and their national perspective of urban library issues is a valuable addition to the provincial and territorial library associations. OLA welcomes the participation of CULC/CUBC in Super Conference 2011. A special stream of sessions has been integrated into the program for the benefit of all.

Bring a Guest!

Administrators, mayors and reeves, school principals and others who make decisions about college, university, school and public libraries are invited by the Association to attend one complimentary day with an OLA member delegate. To register your Administrative Guest, use the special category in the online registration. You will need the confirmation number of your own registration when you register a guest. Alternatively, you can provide your confirmation to your guest and he/she can complete the Guest Registration.

BE GREEN.

We are continuing on with our compact evaluation form booklets, tweets instead of paper news, reusable (but not edible – yet!) conference bags, and online session handouts in lieu of paper. The conference centre has a green program including recycling, reduced light use for exhibit set-up and take- down and reduced energy consumption.

PLAN YOUR OWN CONFERENCE!

Select “My Super Conference” and start choosing your sessions. A conference planner will be built for you, will be updated to reflect any change in the status of your sessions, and can be changed by you at any time.

Changes in the program?

Each time you run your schedule, it will be automatically updated if a session changes or is withdrawn by a speaker.
The common events such as all-conference plenary events and receptions will automatically appear in your schedule.
