Kim McArthur
President & Publisher
McArthur and Company
Publishing Ltd.
Here is one of the most successful businesswomen in Canada, lively, controversial, her own person in a world that is not strong on feistiness and original thinking. Right brain thinking hits Canadian literature, Canadian publishing and big-time culture. Kim McArthur founded her company following the closure of Little, Brown Canada, a subsidiary that Kim had started and run since 1987. It was a risk-laden decision but McArthur & Company is now one of the largest Canadian-owned publishers of Canadian fiction. Kim was named Canadian Entrepreneur Woman of the Year in 2001 and has been cited on the Profit/Chatelaine list of Canada's Top 100 Women Business Owners six times! In June 2005 Kim McArthur was awarded the Consumers Choice Award for Business Woman of the Year. She will chair the first Book Lover's Ball in February for the Toronto Public LIbrary Foundation.
