Registration Policies and Procedures
REGISTRATION FEE
To obtain favoured fees, the qualifying member must be in good standing at the time of Super Conference. OLA memberships may be purchased or renewed with registration. Members are requested to register at the OLA Web site or to use the pre-filled out form in this mailing. This simplifies registration and links member and conference information together.
FAVOURED FEES FOR QUALIFYING ASSOCIATIONS
Current members of The Partnership (British Columbia Library Association, Library Association of Alberta, Saskatchewan Library Association) may attend at OLA member's rates. Other provincial associations may qualify; please enquire or check the OLA Web site for up-to-date details. In Ontario, OLA member's fees are also extended to OLA affiliate, the Ontario Health Libraries Association, and to partners - the Special Libraries Association (Toronto Chapter) and the Ontario Association of Library Technicians/ABO.
NON-MEMBERS
Since this program is created for OLA members by OLA members, discounts are not extended to those members of the Ontario library community who do not support the Association. However, non-members may become members at the time they register and obtain reduced member's rates.
FIRST-TIME MEMBERS
New OLA members - March 2004 and after - may register at earlybird rates up to January 28.
GUESTS
Administrators and those who make decisions about libraries in college, university, school and public libraries are invited to attend Super Conference as an Association guest. We recommend attending with a librarian or library supervisor from the institution being represented as this can provide useful perspective on the program being presented. To register, each guest is asked to fill out the Super Conference registration form on the Web. Choose the Administrative Guest category.
STUDENTS
Student members are defined as those who are full-time in a post-graduate program or a library techniques program. Given the low cost of student membership, non-member students are not eligible for special rates. Teachers who are AQ students are not eligible either unless they enroll in a group through their course instructor.
SPEAKERS and CONVENORS
Speakers should make sure that they pick the Speaker category when registering on the OLA Web site. Convenors are reminded that regular registration is required.
SPOUSES and FRIENDS
Only individuals registered and wearing OLA-issued badges may attend sessions. Friends or spouses of a registrant who are not associated with a library or do not earn their living from the library world may attend using the non-salaried fee.
TICKETED EVENTS
Ticketed social events may be attended without being a conference registrant. The regular registrant should purchase the extra tickets as part of normal registration to guarantee a place. Tickets where available will be sold at the on-site Registration Desk.
CONFIRMATIONS
Badge, official receipt and tickets will be mailed if registration is received by Dec. 31. Your badge holder, official program and conference bag will be available at any Express Desk or from volunteers in the registration lobby. No line-ups!
CANCELLATIONS and REFUNDS
Cancellation requests must be received by mail or FAX by Jan. 28. Since all financial commitments must be made by that time, no refunds are possible after that date. Refunds are subject to a 15% administrative charge. NSF bank charges are billed to the person registered. Any registrant with outstanding debt will not be processed until moneys owing are paid in full.
