USER EDUCATION @ YOUR LIBRARY
Toronto Reference Library Le@rning Centre
789 Yonge Street.
Members $25; Non-members, $30.
Wondering how to answer the many questions your users have about the Internet and other electronic resources? Have you considered developing a user education program for your library? Learn about the goals of user education programs, training methodologies, and scripts you can use with various groups from children to seniors.
Based on work done at Toronto Public Library, using Urban CAP funding, these resources can easily be adapted for use in your library. Participants will receive electronic copies of scripts and handouts (e.g. Web Basics for Seniors, Email Made Easy, Homework Help on the Net). Whether you are interested in one-to-one instruction or group sessions, this workshop will give you a head start on initiating a program or revitalizing your existing program.
