PROFILE: This is Paula Todd's eighth season as co-host of Studio 2, TV Ontario's popular flagship current events program, which won the Gemini for the Best Talk Show in Canada in 2003. She also hosts and co-produces "Person 2 Person with Paula Todd," an intimate biography program about human behavior, which won the Tema Conter Memorial Trust Media Award in 2003.

Paula came to Studio 2 from The Toronto Star, which she first joined in 1983 and where she worked as a reporter, feature writer and Queen's Park correspondent. In her last four years at The Star, Paula served as an editorial writer and a member of the newspaper's editorial board. Paula, who is also a lawyer, has worked extensively as a national magazine writer and columnist for such publications as Elm Street Magazine, Homemaker's and The Law Times. She's served as a National Newspaper Awards judge, and was nominated for a National Magazine Award in 2003.

A frequent contributor to radio and television before joining TVO, Paula was a guest host on Newsworld's Face Off, appeared as a Global TV and CBC panelist, and also as a political analyst for CBC Radio in Ottawa. Paula earned her B.A. in English Literature from York University (where she served as co-editor of Excalibur), her L.L.B from Osgoode Hall Law School (where she wrote a media manual for poverty law clinics) and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1990.

She is currently writing a book for Thomas Allen & Son about the exceptional courage of ordinary people.
