As retired teacher-librarian, Sheila Clarke, says,
“We simply must teach all children, regardless of socio-economic level, regardless of whether someone is home to help them, regardless of their access to computers at home, how to find, interpret, evaluate, handle ethically, and share, information. For their spirits, we must also teach the appreciation of good literature, and for our country, we must help them access good Canadian literature. We know from experience that it happens best within the school library, with a qualified teacher-librarian."
