What is it?

What does it look like?

A portfolio is a collection of student work over time; it should have samples from many learning opportunities using a variety of formats (print, media, electronic information, visual).  It must include a reflective component.

  • Demonstrates growth in learning and understanding
  • Tracks progress over a specified period of time
  • Can form a basis for conferencing (teacher to student, peer to peer)
  • Can be self evaluative
  • Reflects the expectations of the curriculum and information literacy
