Process
Part One: As a class, you will investigate the issue of conflict and children’s rights, in order to see the big picture. Use one of the following strategies, at the direction of your teacher:
Your teacher may organize you into expert groups for this activity.
Part Two: Your teacher will organize you into expert groups for the youth task force. Each group will be responsible for investigating a different area of the world where children are especially affected by conflict, in preparation for your presentation to the special parliamentary committee on International Relations.
Your group will:
- Investigate how conflict affects children and their rights in the area / country that you are researching, using the information fact-gathering sheet, Conflict and the Rights of Children.
- Discuss your findings, and prepare your group’s Position Paper
- Plan your presentation using the Presentation Hot Tips page
- Present your findings to the special parliamentary committee on International Cooperation.
