Change for Change
After engaging in the lessons from Be the Change students are often interested in taking action beyond the suggestions in the individual units. Whether it is creating a letter writing campaign, engaging in fundraising for a specific cause or raising awareness of a local issue all endeavors should be meaningful, partnered with the learning and student directed.
Below are some suggested fundraising ideas that have been used successfully:
The OLA has embarked on a fundraising campaign of our own, and currently in the process of building two school library-public library community centres and commitments have been made to maintain the collections and staffing of these libraries for the foreseeable future. Should you wish to direct your school fundraising efforts in that direction, please use the form provided.
