A young child needed a safe home when the Nazis attack Holland during WWII, and found one with the Braals. Frans Braal and his wife Mies sheltered many people at their home during the war, including children and resistance fighters. They willingly put themselves in danger to protect others, and narrowly missed being caught on more than one occasion.
