Mahtab was born in Bombay, India. This city by the sea, with all its energy
and spirit, was her home for 25 years before she immigrated to Canada after
a brief sojourn in the Middle East.

Mahtab (which means moonlight in Persian) is an IT professional who plays
with acronyms during the day and with words at night when she does all her
writing. An avid reader, she was always in trouble at school, for borrowing
more library books than the allotted quota. She started writing in 2003 as
a result of a tragic incident; her father passed away due to cancer. This
prompted her to record incidents of her childhood which she never wanted to
forget, and was the starting point of a journey that led her to discover
what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.

Her passion for a good story, fantasy and Indian mythology came together in
her debut novel "The Third Eye," published by The Dundurn Group in 2007.
Currently she is hard at work writing the sequel to "The Third Eye."
