After the death of their mother, twelve-year-old Sydney and her 9-year-old brother Turk jump a train and travel west to the farm of their aunt and uncle. But they find the farm gone and replaced with a housing development called The Royal Woods. With the help of new friends, they try to make a new life for themselves.
