Barbara Reid has enjoyed creating picture books for more that twenty years and has produced more than twenty five books. Her dimensional plasticine illustrations have won many awards including the Governor General's Award for Illustration, the Ezra Jack Keats Award, and the Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Award. Most recently Barbara was named both Children's Illustrator of the Year and Children's Author of the Year by the Canadian Bookseller's Association. Her latest books are Fox Walked Alone and Sing a Song of Mother Goose.
While she enjoys working with authors, as well as writing her own stories, Barbara loves making pictures best of all, and is always thrilled to see artwork created by fellow plasticine artists of all ages. She lives in Toronto with her husband Ian Crysler, their two daughters and a fox terrier named Ruby. Ian is a professional photographer and he photographs all the plasticine artwork so it can be reproduced in books.
