Tobermory Friends of the Library The Gabriele Schreiber Friends of the Year Award is  sponsored by Random House Canada. The Tobermory Public Library receives up to $1,000 worth of books from Random House .  “The application was complete and offered a true sense of the community’s support for its library and the work being done on its behalf by the Friends group,” said Ian White, Gabriele Schreiber Friends of the Year Award Committee Chair. The ‘scrapbook’ feel of the entry was a very effective, warm way to provide the necessary information and documentation.” White said choosing a Friends of the Year winner is never an easy task because every entry has worked extremely hard on behalf of its library.

		The Friends celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2008. Their submission  itemized their successes :   Library Services run by Friends Joint endeavours with the library Innovation Advocacy Community Involvement
		A “Home away from home” “The Friends have spent countless hours and years in making the library a “home away from home”.
